The role is for a Network Engineer at a global bank establishing its India technology and operations centre. The engineer will design, configure, and maintain the LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructure that connects the India offices and data centres, keeping the network fast, secure, and available.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain the LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructure that connects the India offices and data centres.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN gateways.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot outages and latency issues.
- Plan and execute network changes and expansions with minimal downtime.
- Implement and audit firewall rules, access controls, and segmentation.
- Set up monitoring and alerting for network health and security events.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and change records.
Requirements
- 3 to 7 years administering enterprise network infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent networking equipment.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
- Clear written and spoken English and a reliable remote‑work setup.
Nice to have
- CCNA, CCNP, or an equivalent networking certification.
- Experience with SD‑WAN or cloud networking (AWS/Azure VPC).
- Exposure to network security tools and compliance frameworks.
