We are looking for a detail‑oriented and analytical Software Engineer to join our Mayhem Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of our cloud‑native, API‑first platform for Mayhem, our autonomous application security testing platform, helping organizations find and fix security vulnerabilities faster than threat actors can exploit them.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full‑stack features across a Python/Flask backend and a TypeScript/React frontend.
- Design scalable API‑first architecture, service patterns, and robust API standards for third‑party integrations.
- Build and maintain integrations connecting Mayhem with customer systems, security tools, workflow engines, and more.
- Create consistent service patterns and ensure strong guarantees around interfaces and performance.
- Improve internal engineering tools that support security triage and vulnerability workflows.
- Collaborate with designers using our accessible and standards‑compliant design system (bugcrowd.design).
- Ensure high accessibility, stability, and performance across integration workflows.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full‑stack software development experience in a product‑focused environment.
- Experience in the cybersecurity domain.
- Strong technical skills in full‑stack development, including backend API development (Python/Flask) and frontend development (TypeScript/React).
- Strong background in agile delivery, backlog management, and stakeholder communication.
- Excellent problem‑solving, prioritization, and decision‑making skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience with Rust (used in some internal CLIs).
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Keycloak.
