Role overview

Formatting this description...

Who this is for You're two-plus years into a design career and your default is to build, not present when you have an idea, you open Figma, Make, or a notebook before you write a spec. You haven't necessarily shipped an AI-native product to real users, and that's fine. What matters is that AI tools are already part of how you design, not a novelty you're bolting on. You'll join a team rebuilding what "product design" means at Jupiter, where agents are part of the interface, not just screens. You won't set that direction you'll learn it fast, apply it daily, and earn more of it over time. The context Jupiter is a neobank spanning savings, payments, cards, loans, investments, and insurance, operating through RBI-regulated partner banks. AI is core infrastructure here, not a bolt-on: production agents already run parts of the business, and customer-facing agentic experiences are next, starting with customer servicing. At your level, this shows up two ways: designing conventional flows (onboarding, repayment, activation) to a high craft bar, and contributing to agentic surfaces turning a senior designer's specs into real states (loading, streaming, error, escalation), using AI tools to move fast through variants, copy drafts, and edge-case audits. What you'll actually be doing Own execution on a defined slice, not a whole surface. You'll get a specific flow or feature rather than an entire funnel. A senior designer owns the strategy and the metric you own the craft and the detail, and you execute it yourself. Within your slice, the layout, copy, edge-case handling, and interaction detail are your calls to make, not sign-off requests; what's fixed is the overall behavior definition and the metric, not how it gets built. Turn product requirements/specs into real screens. Working closely with the Product team to execute functions, own end-to-end UX and UI Use AI tools as your default workflow, not a special case. First-pass explorations, layout variants, copy options, basic accessibility checks generate these with AI so your own time goes into judgment calls: what reads well, what feels trustworthy, what's confusing. We'll ask you to show this workflow, not just describe it. Prototype before you hand off. Every design ships as a working prototype, even a rough one, before an engineer starts building. Static frames alone aren't done work here. Sit in on trust-and-safety design, learn the stakes. You won't independently own a consent or money-movement screen yet those get senior review by default, since the cost of a mistake is real financial harm but you'll work closely on them, and it's one of the fastest paths to more ownership. How you'll grow here This role builds two muscles at once: classic execution craft (funnels, comprehension, polish) and fluency with agentic design (non-deterministic states, conversation design, tool-use visibility). Designers who do well here get a full surface to own within their first year, and a say in the AI interaction system within two. What we're not expecting from you on day one A track record of shipped AI products used by real customers. A point of view on Jupiter's whole agent design language. The ability to independently defend a metric move in front of leadership you'll do that alongside someone senior first. How we'll interview you Show us something you built not necessarily AI-native or shipped, a personal project, hackathon, or old prototype. We want to see that you build, not just spec. Walk us through one design decision you'd change. Pick a past project and tell us what you'd do differently now we're listening for self-awareness, not a clean success story. Show us your AI tool habits. What you actually use day to day for exploration, drafting, or QA, and why you picked those over alternatives. A short paired exercise. We'll hand you a rough flow (classic or agentic) and ask you to take it further live, with whatever tools you'd normally reach for. We're watching how you think, not judging pixel polish. Logistics Bangalore, in person. 2+ years of experience in product design, consumer or fintech. Reports to a senior designer or design lead.
