Jr. Software Engineer

Overview About the Role CannonDesign is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join the FOS products team. Reporting to a Senior Engineer or the Director of Software Engineering, you will help build and maintain scalable SaaS solutions while learning from experienced team members. This opportunity is suited for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to strengthen their technical abilities, learn industry practices, and gain practical experience developing real-world applications. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to support feature development for internal and external users. What You Will Do Write, test, and debug code for cloud-based SaaS applications under senior engineer guidance Assist with application maintenance, bug fixes, and implementation of smaller features Learn and apply CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and foundational DevOps practices Support technical and end-user documentation efforts Participate in code reviews and follow clean coding best practices Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and support project delivery Contribute to testing and quality assurance activities Continue learning new technologies and software engineering practices What You Will Need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent bootcamp/self-taught experience 0-2 years of professional software development experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic projects Knowledge of at least one modern programming language such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python Basic understanding of frontend or backend web development concepts Exposure to Git or other version control systems is preferred Awareness of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is beneficial Familiarity with frameworks including React, .NET, or Node.js is a plus Understanding of Docker, CI/CD, or DevOps concepts is an advantage About the FOS Team The FOS (Facility Optimization Solutions) products team delivers software, data, and AI-driven solutions focused on business growth and customer satisfaction.
